Upper Primary Outdoor Education Term 3 2023

Sep 18, 2023 | class story, school events, wellbeing

by Year 6 students Dahlia and Hayley

Outdoor Ed is a program our school does to get students outdoors, to take risks and to have fun, all students from reception to year 6 all get a chance to have a day of activities outside.

In Term 3 the year 5/6s went to Douglas Scrub.

The Year 6s had activities such as a Catapult Building. using three big sticks , rope, and a stick with a bit of a pan on the end. A giant rope course that we got to do which we had a harness connected to a zipline incase we fell.

We also had rock climbing which we were connected to a rope with our harness and helmet, and when we wanted to get lowered down the men would undo the rope a bit.

The Year 5s had activities like mountain biking, tent building and rescuing the pilot that had a stuffed man stuck in a tree and they had to rescue him.

“I enjoyed rock climbing the most, I thought the tree climbing was very scary but exciting at the same time.” -Dylan

“It was good. I liked rock climbing!” -Talan

“I liked everything but I liked the catapult building the most.” -Ruby
