On the 17th of August 2023 Port Noarlunga Primary School hosted a music night where our strings and choir students got to perform what they have learnt this year.
The night was a fantastic turn out. Families brought their own chairs, picnic rugs and dinner and enjoyed the performance.
To start the night Indi gave an Acknowledgement of Country. To begin the performances in a fun way, we sang happy birthday to Phoebe’s Dad with a cupcake and candle because it was his birthday.
The first song that the choir performed was Proud Mary, then I Am The Earth. There was a break while the strings were setting up and families ate their dinner, then two people showed the difference between viola and cello and performed a song.
There was then a violin performance. Next the choir performed another song called Smile. The purpose of this song was to make you happy and smile 🙂.
The string beginners set up and played four songs. Cobie then performed her solo for Charleston.
Reece played a solo on his guitar. It was so good!
The continuers for strings played Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and Stew Pot Hop. While the ensemble set up, Lila sang the solo from Away from the Screen. The big ensemble played as the last strings group. They played Time to Tango and open String Czard. They sounded great!
Last but not least the choir sang Keep Movin’, a fun song that lots of people in the room would have known. Then that was the end of the 2023 music night. What an amazing night it was!
School Choir
We are very lucky at PNPS to have a school choir.
We rehearse with Mrs Smale every Wednesday. The songs this year are very fun. We are having a great time learning them. Our soloists at PNPS are: Phoebe, Liam, Cobie, Lila, James, Oscar and Marley.
We are excited to perform at the Hopgood theatre in November!
Porties Piano
We are VERY lucky at Port Noarlunga Primary to have just been donated a piano. It is 140 years old and beautiful. THANK YOU very much to the Johnson family for giving our school such a beautiful instrument. All students are very excited to have the opportunity to play!
Did you know…
The piano is one of the most-popular musical instruments in the world. How cool that our school now has one! Thanks again to the Johnson family. 😀
