Outdoor Education

“At Porties, instead of camp — we Outdoor Ed!”

Introduced for the first time in 2023 and continuing in 2024, Outdoor Ed is an exciting programme for Porties students to:

  • Connect with our local environment
  • Be introduced to camping skills
  • Spend time bonding as a class
  • Experience an adventure type activity

It is a programme designed to occur instead of camps.

Outdoor Ed will consist of 3 days during the year, and be based on these headings:

  • Team Building
  • Bush Walking
  • Adventure Day

R, Year 1, Year 2

Years 3/4

  • Bushwalk– Thursday 26th June, location TBA
  • Raft Building with “Beyond the Classroom” at Onkaparinga River. Date TBA
  • Team Building Day– Resilience Builders @PNPS with Active Education 18th February 2025
  • Approx cost for year $80-$90

Years 5/6

  • Bushwalk– Wednesday 25th June @ Onkaparinga Gorge
  • Adventure Day– TBA
  • Team Building Day– Resilience Builders @PNPS with Active Education (can be linked to website) 29th Feb
  • Approx cost $90-100

This is an exciting new programme we would encourage all students to participate in. It will allow them to make connections with local nature, become more resilient, and experience different activities.

Cost & Payment

Payment will be required at the time of each Outdoor Ed event per class, and will vary depending on the activities and any travel requirements. Pricing will be included in each permission slip sent home (digitally via eamail) and payments can be made using the QKR! app under the opporopriate section.

Permission to attend

Permission slips to attend each Outdoor Education day will be sent via email using the EdSmart system (like any other excursion). All information and confirmed pricing will be contained in the email. Contact the school with any technical difficulties or to request a printed copy.
